Chromium Picolinate toxicity

Chromium is a mineral that require human trace. It is found in small amounts in foods such as the yeast of beer, liver of calf, whole grains, meats and cheeses.

In 1959, chrome has been identified as an element that allows insulin hormone function properly.

Since then, chromium has been studied for diabetes and has become a popular dietary supplement. It is widely available in natural food, pharmacy stores and online.

Chromium also believed to help the body process carbohydrates and fats. It is marketed as an aid to the loss of weight for indicated and a (muscle building) ergogenic aid for bodybuilders and athletes. A form particularly, picolinate, chromium is popular because it is one of the most easily absorbed forms. In 1995, a study led by Diane Stearns, Ph.d., at Dartmouth College caused controversy on the safety of the chromium picolinate.

Researchers have added high concentrations of chromium picolinate chloride, chromium or chromium nicotinate hamster cells in culture and concluded that chromium picolinate could only damage the genetic material of hamster cells.

Since then, other studies of laboratory animals and cell cultures suggested chromium picolinate causes oxidative stress and damage to DNA.

Critics say that scientists have used unrealistic doses and that administration of cells in test tubes chrome is not the same thing as taking chromium supplements orally.

No adverse effects were regularly and frequently reported with use of chromium in the short term in human studies. For this reason, the Institute of medicine has not set an upper limit recommended for chrome.

In 2004, the Institute of medicine reviewed the security information on chrome for a monograph of prototype and found that chromium picolinate is safe when used in a manner consistent with the clinical data published up to 1.6 milligrams of chromium picolinate per day or 200 micrograms of chromium per day for three to six months).

There is very little information, however, the safety of use in the long term of chromium. There are reports of clinical cases few of undesirable side effects after taking supplements of chromium picolinate.

For example, a report published in The Annals of Pharmacotherapy journal described the case of a woman aged 33, who developed a kidney failure, damage to the liver and anaemia after 1 200 to 2 400 micrograms of chromium picolinate (approximately six to 12 times the recommended daily allowance) for five months to lose weight.

The woman has been actively treated with antipsychotic medications, so it is difficult to say if it was chromium, the combination of chromium with the drug, or another medical problem has a predisposition to such a reaction.

In a separate report of the case, a 24-year-old man who had taken a supplement containing chromium picolinate for two weeks during his training sessions developed acute renal failure. Although chromium picolinate was the suspected cause, it is important to note that there were other ingredients in the supplement that may have been responsible.

There are some concerns that chromium picolinate may affect levels of neurotransmitters (substances in the body that transmit nerve impulses). This can potentially be a concern for people with diseases such as depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Chromium Picolinate may have an additive effect if combined with diabetes cause of drugs and blood glucose levels dip too low. This is why it is important to talk to your doctor before taking any form of chrome, if you also take medication for diabetes.

Supplements of chromium taken with drugs that prevent the formation of prostaglandins (hormone-like substances), such as ibuprofen, indomethacin, naproxen, and aspirin can increase the absorption of chromium in the body.

The safety of chromium picolinate in pregnant women or nursing mothers has not been established. Although there is no human data, administered to pregnant mice chromium picolinate proved to cause skeletal malformations in fetal development.

Since chromium in high doses picolinate supplements appear to provide little if any health benefit while possibly carrying some risks, it is my opinion that high doses of chromium picolinate should be avoided, at least until there are more cogent evidence of benefits, or more evidence about the side effects.

Ginkgo is one of the oldest living tree species. The extract of ginkgo leaves is used in medicine in North America, where it is one of the most popular medicinal herbs and many other countries around the world. In traditional Chinese medicine, the ginkgo tree seeds are used.

It is believed that the Ginkgo leaves contain compounds that thin of blood and help improve muscle tone in the walls of blood vessels. This can increase blood flow.

Constituents in leaves of ginkgo may affect blood clotting, extracts of ginkgo leaves should not be used by people with bleeding disorders. Epilepsy (or any person with a history of seizures) should avoid Ginkgo, because it can increase the frequency of seizures.

The safety of ginkgo in pregnant women or nursing mothers and children is not known.

Side effects of ginkgo leaves include excessive bleeding. Rarely, seizures have been reported in people using the leaf of ginkgo or seeds. Other side effects include digestive problems, headaches, allergic skin reaction or muscle weakness.

People should ne consume fresh ginkgo seeds. Roast ginkgo seeds can cause diarrhea, nausea, indigestion, vomiting, or allergic skin reaction. Side effects of ginkgo seeds fresh or more than 10 roasted seeds ginkgo include death, seizures, loss of consciousness and difficulty breathing.

Ginkgo may increase the effect of blood thinners (antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs), such as clopidogrel, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), heparin and aspirin, which can cause uncontrolled bleeding or hemorrhage. Some herbs, such as la danshen, Devil's claw, Siberian Ginseng, garlic, ginger, horse chestnut, the papain, red clover, and saw palmetto, can also increase the risk of bleeding if combined with ginkgo.

Ginkgo was found to interfere with the metabolism of drugs processed by an enzyme called cyp3A4. Ask your doctor to check if you take drugs of this type.

Ginkgo may increase the risk of seizure if combined with other medications or herbs that do the same, such as antidepressants, bupropion (Zyban Wellbutrin), certain antibiotics such as penicillin and cephalosporins, corticosteroids, fentanyl (Duragesic) Actiq, theophylline, methylphenidate (e.g. Concerta, Ritalin), drugs that suppress the immune system, such as azathioprine and cyclosporine, Borage, evening primrose and absinthe.

Ginkgo should not be used with the drug cyclosporine (used to suppress the immune system), because it has been found to reduce the effect of this drug. Theoretically, ginkgo may have the same effect with other immunosuppressive drugs.

Ginkgo may interact with insulin and other drugs for diabetes, such as metformin (Glucophage), glyburide (Glynase), glimepiride (Amaryl) and glipizide (Glucotrol XL). It should not be used with medication to prevent seizures.

There were a few cases of arterial hypertension in people taking diuretics ginkgo and thiazide, such as chlorothiazide, chlorthalidone and hydrochlorothiazide, metolazone polythiazide.

What is Ayurveda?

Also known as: Ayurvedic medicine
Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of the India, whose origin more than 5,000 years ago. Ayurveda focuses on restoring balance in the body through diet, mode of life, exercise and cleansing of the body and on the health of the mind, body and spirit.
In North America, Ayurveda is regarded as a form of alternative medicine. As traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda is a medical system, which means that it is based on the theories of health and disease and methods of prevention and treatment of health conditions.

Over the last decade, Ayurveda is growing in popularity in North America, thanks in part to the work of Deepak Chopra, M.D., a physician that combines Western medicine Ayurveda.

In 2004, the National Center for Health Statistics and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCAAM) published the results of a survey of 31 000 people in the United States. Four - tenths of one percent of respondents had used Ayurveda in the past. One tenth of one percent of respondents had used Ayurveda in the last year.

An initial assessment with an Ayurvedic practitioner may last an hour or more. The practitioner will ask questions on your health, diet and lifestyle. He or she will listen to your pulse. Unlike medicine, pulse 12 different points are assessed in Ayurveda.

The Ayurvedic practitioner also examines the language; his appearance is expected to provide clues on the areas of the body which has more balance. There are also the appearance of the skin, lips, nails and eyes.
After the evaluation, the practitioner will determine unique balance of the individual doshas, or metabolic types. A dosha is usually predominant and can be unbalanced, usually due to poor diet and unhealthy habits.
The practitioner also determines your prakuti, also called your constitution or essential nature. From there, the practitioner may create an individualized, treatment plan which includes often diet, exercise, herbs, yoga, meditation and massage. The treatment plan is usually on the balance between a particular dosha.
According to Ayurveda, everything is made up of five elements: air, water, fire, Earth and space. These elements combine to form the three doshas vata, kapha and pitta types or metabolic. In Ayurveda, doshas explain some of our individual differences.

The vata dosha is a combination of space and air. He is responsible for the body such as respiration, cell division and circulation processes and control movement. Vata body areas are the large intestine, basin, bone, skin, ears and thighs. People with vata as their main dosha would be quick-thinking, thin and fast and are sensitive to anxiety, dry skin and constipation.

The kapha dosha represents the elements of water and Earth. Kapha is supposed to be responsible for the resistance, immunity and growth. Kapha body areas are the chest, lungs and the cerebrospinal fluid. People with kapha as their main dosha appear to be calm, have a solid body frame and are likely to be of diabetes, obesity, sinus congestion and gallbladder problems.

The pitta dosha combines fire and water. It is thought to control hormones and digestive system. Pitta body areas are small intestines, stomach, sweat glands, skin, blood and eyes. People with pitta as their main dosha are viewed as having a fiery, oily skin personality and are vulnerable to heart disease, ulcers of stomach, inflammation, arthritis and stomach heartburn.

Dosha imbalance is intended to interrupt the natural flow of prana, or vital energy. Disturbed energy flow is then thought to impair digestion and allow the build up of wastes from the body, or ama, which compromises more energy and digestion.

Power supply: Recommendations are individualized to the individual dosha and season. Foods can balance or cause imbalance for each dosha. See a list of foods thought to establish a balance between each dosha.
Cleansing and detoxification: this can be done through fasting, enemas, feeding and care of the body.
Phytotherapy: herbal Ayurvedic examples are triphala, ashwaghanda, gotu kola, guggul and boswellia.
Yoga Meditation.

Massage: Medicated herbal oils are often used.In India, there are many undergraduate and graduate colleges for Ayurveda, where training can be up to five years of studies.

Outside of the India, some people who have been trained in another profession of health (e.g. doctor, nurse, doctor of naturopathy) study Ayurveda before or after their training. Other practitioners to attend only Ayurvedic College.

There is currently no national standard for the certification of training or licenses Ayurvedic practitioners to the United States or the Canada.
Due to its growing popularity, Ayurvedic, particularly to the spas and salons, are more performed by persons who have not received formal training in Ayurveda. According to NCAAM, in 2004, 14 of 70 Ayurvedic medicines tested were found to contain lead, mercury and arsenic to potentially harmful levels. All products have been manufactured in South Asia.
The same year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have received 12 reports of lead poisoning associated with the use of herbal Ayurvedic products.

There is a lack of research on the effectiveness, safety, side effects and possible drug interactions of herbal Ayurvedic products. Although some research have been made, there are generally problems with the design of the studies. In North America, the use of practices traditional Ayurvedic, such as vomiting, enemas and cleaning of blood, is seen as highly controversial and the safety of these practices is unknown.

Natural treatments for eczema

Also known as: Atopic Eczema, atopic dermatitis, childhood eczema

Eczema is a chronic skin disorder characterized by itching skin rash, which can be red, scaly, dry and leathery. There may be skin blisters, oozing and crusting.

Eczema usually occurs for the first time in infants, with rash typically occurring on the cheeks, elbows or knees. Eczema, although often less of a problem in adulthood, can persist, especially if a person is exposed to allergens or chemical irritants or is under tension. In adults, eczema is typically located on the inner elbow or behind the knee.

People with eczema often have members of the family with asthma, hay fever, or eczema cold.

Probiotics, or "good" bacteria are living microbial organisms naturally found in the digestive tract. They are considered as remove potentially harmful bacteria growth, influence the immune function and strengthen the protective barrier of the digestive tract.

Studies indicate that infants at high risk for allergic conditions such as eczema have different types and the number of bacteria in their gut than other babies, and probiotics supplements taken by children and pregnant women can reduce eczema occurrence in children.

A large, long-term study considered whether the use of a probiotic supplement or a placebo might affect the incidence of eczema in infants. Researchers randomized 1223 pregnant women with babies to high risk use a probiotic supplement or a placebo for 2 to 4 weeks before delivering.

From birth, babies received probiotics same as their mother had more galacto-oligosaccharides (called a "prebiotic" because it has been shown to help several strains of beneficial bacteria flourish) for 6 months. After 2 years, probiotics were much more effective than placebo in preventing eczema.

In addition to the use of probiotics to prevent eczema, probiotics have also been explored as a treatment for infants and children who already have an eczema. Some studies have shown that probiotics reduce eczema symptoms only in infants and children who are sensitized to food allergens.

Researchers are testing different strains of bacteria to see if a particular strain is more efficient for eczema. One of the most commonly used probiotic strains used in the studies of eczema is Lactobacillus GG. Other used strains are Lactobacillus fermentum VRI-033 CCP, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus reuteri and Bifidobacteria lactis. Galacto-oligosaccharides as Prebiotics has also been used.

The gels and creams made from Chamomile herbal extracts, of liquorice and Witch Hazel have been explored to reduce the symptoms of eczema. Here are the results of some of the preliminary studies. A double-blind study compared a gel of licorice 1% and 2% from placebo to Eczema gel. After two weeks, licorice gels both 1% and 2% were more effective than placebo gel, and 2% gel was more effective to reduce the redness, swelling, and itching that 1% gel. A comparative study cream Chamomile 0.5% hydrocortisone cream or a placebo. After two weeks, camomile cream was more effective than hydrocortisone cream, but it was not significantly more effective that placebo cream. This study was not double-blind, it cannot be used as evidence that Chamomile cream is effective in eczema. In a German double-blind study, 72 people with moderately severe eczema has used a cream of placebo containing extract Witch-Hazel, cream 0.5% hydrocortisone or single cream 14 days. Hydrocortisone was more effective than Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel was not significantly more effective that placebo cream. Consult a qualified practitioner before using all topical herbal applications. Some grasses, such as Chamomile, are known to cause allergic contact dermatitis. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) acids, such as evening primrose oil and Borage Oil, are a type of essential fatty acids. GLA has shown that the correct gaps in skin lipids that can trigger inflammation, that is why it is thought to help with eczema. However, recent, well-designed clinical studies with GLA have found generally that it helps with eczema.

For example, a double blind study examined the use of Borage Oil (500 mg per day) or placebo in 160 adults with moderate eczema. After 24 weeks, overall effectiveness was not significantly better with compared with placebo Borage Oil.

Macrobiotic Diet

The word "macrobiotic" comes from Greek roots and means "long life". The Macrobiotic Diet and philosophy have been developed by a Japanese educator named George Ohsawa, who believed that simplicity is the key to optimal health.

In General, people who are interested in the Macrobiotic Diet are seeking a healthy way of eating that integrates the physical, spiritual and global health.

The Macrobiotic Diet is a low fat, high fiber diet vegetarian food mainly, with emphasis on vegetables and whole grains. In addition, the Macrobiotic Diet is rich in Phytoestrogens in soy products.

Because the diet low in fat, high fiber is often recommended for cancer and other chronic diseases, the Macrobiotic Diet has been used by people with these diseases. The content of Phytoestrogens can be protective and reduce the risk of cancer associated with estrogen such as breast cancer. However, more research is needed to clarify whether the Macrobiotic Diet is effective in the treatment and prevention of cancer.

Dietary guidelines are individualized based on factors such as the climate, season, age, gender, activity and health.

The Macrobiotic Diet emphasizes foods which tend to fail at diet in North America, such as whole grains rich in fiber, vegetables, and beans. It is low in saturated fat and high in Phytoestrogens, which proponents believe can help strike a balance between the female hormones help menopause, premenstrual syndrome and prevention against breast cancer and endometriosis.

Oil of castor oil Pack

Castor oil has a long history of traditional medical use dating back to the ancient Egypt. Castor oil is derived from the castor bean (Ricinus communis.) Even if it was taken after oral as laxative, it is now known to be toxic and is only used externally on intact skin. It must only be used after avoir consulted a health professional.

A pack of castor oil involves the use of soaked of oil of castor oil which is placed on the skin. It is used by some alternative practitioners to improve circulation and promote healing of tissues and organs under the skin. Alternative practitioners also use it to improve the functioning of the liver, alleviate pain, reduce inflammation and improve digestion.

Oil of castor oil packs are made by soaking a piece of flannel in castor oil and placing it on the skin. Flannelette is covered with a plastic sheet, and then a hot water bottle is placed on the plastic to heat pack.

A pack of castor oil can be placed on the following areas of body:
The right side of the abdomen. Castor oil packs are sometimes recommended by alternative practitioners in a program of detoxification of the liver.
Inflamed and swollen joints, bursitis and muscle strains.
The abdomen to relieve constipation and other digestive disorders.
The abdomen menstrual irregularities and uterine cysts and ovarian.

Castor oil should not be taken internally. It should not apply to broken skin. Must not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or during the rules.

Three layers of wool flannel or cotton dyed broad enough to cover the affected area
Castor oil
Plastic cutting one or two inches larger that the flannel (can be cut in a plastic bag)
Hot water bottle
Container with lid
Old clothes and leaves. Castor oil will be stain clothing and bedding.

1. Place the flannel in the container. Soak it oil of castor oil so that it is saturated, but not step drip.

2. Place the pack on the affected body part.

3 Cover plastic.

4 Place the bottle with hot water on the pack. Let the 45 to 60 minutes. Rest while the pack is in place.

5. After the removal of the pack, clean the area with a dilute water and baking soda solution.

6 Store the pack in the container in the refrigerator. Each pack can be reused up to 25 - 30 times.

Reverse you? What is you are supposed to be naked? What do you say nothing if the pressure is not deep enough? What happens if you are shy about your body?

Here are the answers to the ten questions of massage you want to ask, but may be too uncomfortable to.

If you get a massage at a spa or a hotel, a tip of 15% to 20% is standard if you were pleased with the services.

However, there is no real ground rules or standards when it comes to massage medical workplace. Some massage therapists and massage associations that I asked said tip is not appropriate in a medical or clinical context.

Many people prefer to keep their panties or briefs during a massage, while others prefer to be completely nude. It is for you.

The cure swimmer's ear.

Vitex

Other names: Vitex agnus castus Agnus castus, chaste tree, pepper of the monk

Vitex is a plant in Asia and the Mediterranean countries. Used in medicine is the dried fruit.

Vitex has been used as a traditional folk remedy for a range of female conditions, such as bleeding after childbirth and to help the "crossing of postpartum". One of its names alternate, "chaste tree", comes from the historical belief that it can suppress libido.

Vitex does not really hormones. It seems to increase progesterone by stimulating the release of a hormone called pituitary luteinizing hormone. Vitex is also thought to normalize the excessive levels of prolactin and promote fertility.

Small amounts of vitex could increase the production of milk in women after childbirth. High doses can have the opposite effect and reduce the production of milk.

Vitex may affect levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine. People with Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia or any other condition in which dopamine levels are affected should avoid vitex unless under the supervision of a qualified health professional.

Vitex may decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives or female hormone replacement. It could also theoretically increase the risk of side effects.

Vitex could interfere with the effectiveness of the drugs that increase dopamine as bromocriptine, cabergoline, carbidopa-levodopa, Mirapex or Requip, or the loss of dopamine, such as chlorpromazine, clozapine (Clozaril), haloperidol (Haldol), metoclopramide (Reglan), Risperdal, Seroquel, thioridazine, trifluoperazine, or Zyprexa.

Clean up master

Clean up master, also known as cleanser lemonade diet, or Master is a liquid diet created by self-taught healer Stanley Burroughs in the 1940s to treat health conditions. The book The Master cleanser was published in 1976.

According to the book, a regime of cleaning is a necessary element of the treatment of a health condition. The clean master was mainly used by people who wanted to detoxify their body of chemicals and toxins. His popularity grew by word of mouth and the testimony of the Internet.

Why is the master cleanse so popular?: so that the master cleanse is still used by people who want to improve their health, it has also become popular in recent years with people who want to lose weight rapidly.

Several celebrities have publicly stated that they tried the diet. For example, singer and actress Beyoncé Knowles announced on Oprah that she had lost more than 20 books on master cleanse to prepare for his role in the film Dreamgirls. Robin quivers, co-Chair of Howard Stern, said that she lost a total of 73 books on diet.

For example, one of the supposed benefits of lemons is potassium, but a banana contains about the same amount of potassium as all lemon juice consumed each day on the master cleanse. Also, maple syrup is rich in sugar.

How long is the last clean master?: the book recommends that people go on the diet for 10 days or more and says that the maximum duration is 40 days. It suggests that people can go on clean master, three to four times per year.

Most nutritionists and health care professionals advise against fasting extended (several days), particularly as a means of losing weight.

What happens after the Master cleanse?: after the cleaning is completed, there is a recommended procedure to break the fast. The first day after the clean, orange juice is allowed. The second day has more orange juice and vegetables possibly soup. The third day, vegetables, salads and fruit are allowed. Normal eating is usually resumed the fourth day.How what we think on the clean master?: many accounts are on the Internet by people claiming that the clean master declined from their symptoms. Some say that they have better energy and mental clarity during and after the treatment. For others, there is a spiritual, or psychological effect which can have a positive effect on health.

Many people, however, feel dizzy, low or very hungry and say that it is difficult to master cleanse. Diarrhea and loose stools are frequent on the regime, mainly due to drink herbal laxative and salt water. Frequent stools are encouraged to diet because they are believed to help the Elimination of toxins.

What are the potential security problems?: most nutritionists advise against a liquid feeding or prolonged fast. One of the most common concerns is the lack of nutrients, proteins and calories in the diet. With 6 glasses of the lemonade drink provides a mere 650 or so calories. What is Pancha Karma?

Pancha karma is a cleaning and Ayurvedic rejuvenation plan. It was developed at the royalty in India extend the life and health through the Elimination of physical impurities, bringing awareness to destructive thoughts and behaviors and releasing old habits.

Pancha Karma is usually once a year for the prevention of disease and emotional and spiritual growth.

Pancha Karma is divided into three phases:

Phase 1: Brahma Karma, the preparation Phase
The objective of Brahma Karma is to prepare the tissues of the body for the cleaning and the release of toxins. One to three weeks before the actual cleaning phase, eliminate you all processed foods, candies, stimulants such as coffee and most dairy products from your diet.

A week before the cleaning phase, the diet is changed, becoming mainly vegetables and whole grains. These foods, including vegetables, create a more alkaline environment (vs acid) in the body, which supports the process of cleansing and detoxification.

During this phase of preparation, activity of the person moves to become more focused internally. This means a release of some daily activities and speding time meditating and taking walks in the nature. Breathing deep, based on the phase exhalation helps rid the body of old ideas, emotions and blockages.

Khichadi recipe
Khichadi is a simple, easily digested stew which may prepare the body for cleaning. It is also coming off the coast of treatment. Here is a type of Khichadi:
1 part Brown basmati rice, soak for at least 1/2 hour and drained
1 part mung beans, soaked in water for at least 1 hour and drained
1 part vegetables such as green beans, carrots, spinach and other green vegetables
6 parts water

Ghee (clarified butter) heat or olive oil in a frying pan to medium heat. Add cumin or coriander seeds. Then add 1 medium onion, finely chopped, minced ginger and garlic and saute until golden brown. Incorporate 1 spoon coffee of turmeric powder, 1/4 black pepper powder tea and 1 bay leaf. Add the beans mung, of water, vegetables and rice.

Cook for about an hour. When the beans are completely soft, add a pinch of salt. Serve this dish with clarified butter and chopped fresh coriander leaves.

Ghee (clarified butter)
Ghee is made by placing the butter unsalted in a pan and leaving the melt and simmer firearms very soft. Butter may appear cloudy and there is foam at the top. During the first five minutes, mix the butter occasionally. Let the butter continue simmering for 15 minutes. You will see the particles sink to the bottom of the pan and foam will settle at the Summit.

As soon as the sediment at the bottom begin to brown, remove the saucepan from heat. Skim and discard foam. The liquid through a sieve fine or chiffon of strain in a glass jar.

Phase 2: Pancha Karma, the Phase of cleaning
Originally, this phase consisted of five practices: nasal cleansing enemas, laxatives, vomiting (vomiting) and bleeding. Although the five practices are followed in India, the practice of vomiting and bleeding is omitted in North America.

A quick cleaning is often used during this period.

Fasting
1. Drink herbal fasting is taken throughout the day.

Herbal drink recipe
8 cups of water
4 teaspoons of cumin and coriander powder
8 cardamom pods
4 teaspoons of crushed fennel seeds
2 pinch of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ginger powder (or 3 slices fresh ginger)
Mix all ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil. Let simmer 5 minutes, then remove from heat and keep cover for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain through a sieve and hot drink throughout the day.

2 Have 1-2 tsp butter clarified with hot water in the morning on an empty stomach. This is believed to release toxins.

Cohosh

Baneberry is a large perennial plant in the family that grows in the regions is and the power of the United States. Cohosh has been used by native Americans as a traditional folk remedy the conditions of women's health, such as menstrual cramps and hot flashes, arthritis, muscle pain, of sore throat, cough and indigestion. The juice of the plant has been used as an insect repellent and was transformed into a salve and applied to the snake bites.

Today, black is mainly used as a nutritional supplement for bursts of heat, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness and other symptoms that may occur during menopause, as well as for menstrual cramps and bloating.

Symptoms of menopause

Baneberry is a herbal remedies from most popular plants for the symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, sweats nocturnes, migraines, disorders of mood, heart palpitations, and vaginal dryness. Cohosh initial research suggests that it may improve some symptoms of the menopause up to six months. In fact, in 2001, the American College of Obstetricians and gynaecologists stated that Cohosh may be useful in the short term (less than 6 months) for menopausal hot flashes.

A recent study, along the year on Cohosh, however, found no has had no significant benefit in women with hot flashes night sweats or heat. Researchers at the National Institute on aging and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine has given women perimenopausal and postmenopausal 351 either black, black combined with other herbs, baneberry/herb mixture more soy enhanced nutrition, hormone replacement therapy or placebo.

Although it is the longest study to date, there are some serious limitations, such as the small number of women in each treatment group. The authors of the study acknowledge that changes can not be detected.

In addition, the quality and purity of the products reintroduced is not known. For example, certain products reintroduced, were found to contain a Chinese cimicifuga instead the Cohosh (Cimicifuga foetida).

However, in August 2006, Health Canada advised consumers of the possible link between the Cohosh and liver damage. In June 2007, the pharmacopoeia of the United States has proposed that the reintroduced product labels contain a warning. The American Botanical Council has replied that there is not enough evidence to justify the proposed warning.

Should not be confused with the black blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) black, white herb, tall Bugbane, Cimicifuga foetida, sheng ma or white baneberry. These species have different effects, and white and blue Cohosh reintroduced, in particular, can be toxic. There is a case report of neurological complications in a baby after term after the induction of labour with a mixture and blue Cohosh herbal reintroduced.

People with allergies to plants in the family (Ranunculaceae) should avoid Cohosh.

Baneberry contains small amounts of salicylic acid, for people suffering from allergy to aspirin or salicylates should avoid Cohosh.

Persons with a history of stroke or blood clots, seizures, liver disease and those who take medication for high blood pressure should not use black.

Because it can act as estrogen hormone in the body, black could interfere with hormone replacement or oral contraceptives.

Cohosh may impair the effectiveness of chemotherapy drug cisplatin.

Theoretically, black can impair the effectiveness of oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy.

Cinnamon for diabetes

I've had a tea of cinnamon on a regular basis, and my blood sugar has also decreased many. Cinnamon tea helped to control my diabetes. I am just curious to know if this has been proved or tested.

Answer:

There was some preliminary research on the effect of cinnamon sugar in the blood of humans but the studies were small and the findings must be confirmed by the greatest trials.

One of the first human studies was published in the journal Diabetes Care in 2003. Sixty people with diabetes type 2 have 1, 3 or 6 grams of cinnamon as pills per day - an amount roughly equivalent to a quarter of a teaspoon of a teaspoon of cinnamon.

After 40 days, all 3 amounts cinnamon reduces blood glucose fasting 18 to 29%, the triglycerides of 23 to 30%, LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) 7 to 27% and total cholesterol of 12 to 26%.

The concern with this study, however, because a couple of conclusions was atypical. For example, no there was no difference in benefits between the 3 doses of cinnamon. Also, people who normally take a placebo showed improvement, but this was not the case for this study.

Another study examined the effect of cinnamon on 79 people with type 2 diabetes who were not on insulin but was taking oral antidiabetic drugs or change their diet. They took about 3 grams of cinnamon or a placebo, 3 times per day for 4 months.

There was a significant reduction in blood glucose in people taking cinnamon compared with people taking placebo. Surprisingly, no there was no difference in the glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C), a test that measures how well blood sugar was controlled for 3 to 4 months.

In a study of 6 weeks on 25 postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes, women received 1.5 grams of cinnamon daily or placebo. No there was no effect on blood glucose, insulin sensitivity or cholesterol.

A very small Swedish study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has examined the effect of cinnamon on 14 persons. People received only rice pudding or rice with cinnamon pudding. The researchers found that added cinnamon has lowered the rise regulate blood glucose levels compared to people who eat cinnamon.

Using cinnamon in the kitchen or having a cup of tea of cinnamon is a great way to add more of this delicious spices in your diet. There are a few precautions to be aware of when the use of cinnamon, although.

Taking cinnamon in large quantities or taking supplements may change the dosage of medications that you need.

Also, people who have been prescribed drugs to control their blood sugar should not reduce or stop their dose and make cinnamon instead, especially not to speak with a physician. Poorly treated diabetes can lead to serious complications, such as a heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and nerve damage.

Cinnamon Cassia, the sort of cinnamon found normally in grocery stores and as a supplement, naturally contains a compound called coumarin. Coumarin is also located in other plants such as celery, Chamomile, clover and parsley.

Levels, coumarin can damage the liver. Coumarin can also have a "blood thinner" effect, kind of cassia cinnamon supplements should not be taken with anticoagulant medication such as Coumadin (warfarin), or by people with bleeding disorders.

Cinnamon in a concentrated form of oil which comes from the bark of cinnamon can also be found. Some of these products are not intended for consumption, but instead, are used for oils essential aromatherapy. In addition, the oil is very powerful and an overdose can depress the central nervous system. People should not take the oil to treat a condition unless under the close supervision of a qualified health professional.

Pregnant women should avoid excessive amounts of cinnamon and not as a supplement to take.

Noni juice

Other names: Mengkudu, Morinda citrifolia

Noni, also known as morinda citrifolia, is a small shrub native flowering of the Pacific Islands, Polynesia, Asia, and Australia. It grows to a height of 10 metres high, and the leaves are dark green and oval shaped. The flower heads grow to become mature yellow fruit that have a strong odor.

Noni juice is widely available as juice or concentrated liquid. It is also found in tablets and capsules.

In medicine traditional Polynesian, noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia) was used for numerous health conditions, such as constipation, diarrhea, inflammation of the skin, infection and mouth sores. He has an unpleasant odour and taste, he is regarded as a last result resort by many cultures. Manufacturers today sweeten noni juice to improve the taste.

Traditionally, the leaves of the noni tree were used locally for the healing of wounds.

Noni juice, like many other fruit juice, is a source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Antioxidants can help prevent certain diseases and help slow the age changes in the body.

In animal studies, the assessment of the effects of noni suggest that it may have anticancer effects, pain relief and improving the immune system. However, these studies used especially extremely high doses which would be difficult to get to the juice. More important still, there is not enough reliable evidence on the safety or effectiveness of noni for any condition of health in humans.

Noni is strongly encouraged for a very wide variety of conditions, such as arthritis, atherosclerosis, bladder infections, boils, intestine conditions, burns, cancer, syndrome of chronic fatigue, circulatory weakness, colds, cold sores, constipation, diabetes, drug addiction, inflammation of the eye, foot, fractures, gastric ulcers, gingivitis, headache, heart disease, hypertension, improvement of digestion, immune weakness, indigestion, kidney disease, malaria, menstrual cramps, menstrual disorders, mouth sores, disorders respiratory, ringworm, sinusitis, inflammation of the skin, sprains, stroke, thrush and injuries. There is no real evidence, however, that noni is effective for these conditions.

There is no secondary effect officially established noni juice. In the absence of evidence, noni should not be used by pregnant women or nursing mothers, children or people with liver disease or kidney.

Noni juice is rich in potassium, so it must be avoided by people with kidney disease or taken, potassium-sparing diuretics, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers because it can result in hyperkalemia, dangerous elevation of potassium levels

Liver Flush

A liver flush is a home remedy. Although there are many variations, it typically involves two glasses of Apple Juice organic drinking every two hours for two days, eating fruits and vegetables. At the end of two days, people are taking one or two spoons of Epsom salts dissolved in water, followed by half a cup of olive oil soup with juice of lemon at sunset.

The liver flush supporters say that it is a method of detox (detoxifying) and also use it as a natural treatment for gallstones.

Why these ingredients? Apple Juice is rich in Malic acid, so it is thought to act as a solvent to weaken adhesion between solid globules. Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) are used because she thinks it relaxes smooth muscle and relax and dilate the bile ducts to allow larger particles solids (such as gallstones) until the exit of the gallbladder. Non-refined olive oil is used to stimulate the gallbladder and bile ducts of the contract and expel gallstones.

People often notice of small pellets or balls in their stool, which varies in size and color. This procedure should only be done under the supervision of a qualified health professional.

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork. The word shiatsu means "finger pressure", and shiatsu is often described as finger pressure massage. Such as acupuncture, shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine, where the disease appears to result from imbalances in the natural flow of energy or qi (pronounced "chee") through the body.

Shiatsu therapists use finger and palm pressure energetic channels, called meridians to improve the flow of qi.

A scientific explanation is that shiatsu calm a hyperactive sympathetic nervous system, improves circulation, relieves the rigid muscles and reduces the stresss.

The shiatsu therapist applies using his fingers, thumbs and/or Palm trees in a continuous rhythmic sequence of pressure.

Pressure feels more localized, because unlike other types of massage, the finger pads are used to apply pressure for most of the treatment instead of the entire Palm.
