Detox, short for detoxification, is the Elimination of potentially toxic substances from the body. Although detox is primarily regarded as an alcohol or drug dependence treatment, it is also a term used in alternative medicine to designate the diets, herbs and other methods of disposal of the organ of the General State of health food and environmental toxins.
While this questionnaire is not intended to replace a diagnosis or evaluation by your doctor, it can help you learn why alternative practitioners recommend this regime. Remember, however, that the effectiveness of these methods have not been scientifically validated and raise questions of safety with some methods. Always consult your doctor before trying a therapy or to make any changes to your regular health plan.
