Candida diet

Candida albicans is a yeast which usually resides in the body in the digestive tract and vagina. Levels of Candida are kept in failure by the immune system and beneficial probiotic bacteria in the body.

If probiotic bacteria are killed by antibiotics or the immune system is weakened, yeast Candida can grow unchecked.

Local infections such as thrush, skin infections and vaginal infections yeast in women can lead.

People with the immune system is severely weakened, such as those against cancer or AIDS, can develop systemic Candida infection, systemic candidiasis called serious health problem.

Some alternative practitioners believe that invaded albicans yeast candida in the intestine is responsible for yeast syndrome which translates by symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, mood swings, sinus congestion, depression, little memory and concentration and cravings of sweets.

The yeast Candida excess in the intestine is then thought to cross the intestinal wall causing yeast and other unwanted particles to be absorbed by the body. It is believed that absorbed yeast particles activate the immune system, resulting in allergic hypersensitivity to Candida.

This yeast syndrome, popularized by William Crook, MD, in his 1983 book the connection of yeast, is regarded as very controversial. More conventional doctors believe that this syndrome is arterial by holistic and many disagree with the validity of the diagnosis.

For example, Dr. Crook recommends Candida with invaded people follow some diet guidelines: avoid sugar. According to Dr. Crook, sugar promotes growth of yeast. Daily total carbohydrate intake is often limited. For example, in the first two to three weeks on the diet, carbohydrate intake may be limited less than 60 grams per day, depending on the age, health, activity level and extent of food sensitivities. Low carbohydrate foods such as meat, chicken, Turkey, seafood, non-starchy vegetables and certain nuts are highlighted instead. As symptoms fade, total carbohydrates in the diet is often gradually increased. Avoid foods containing any type of yeast. This includes fermented foods such as bread made with yeast, cheese, tomato paste, of fungi and beer. Mr. Crook believed that Candida with invaded people are also allergic to other fungi, not all experts estimate that this restriction is necessary.

The length of time on a Candida diet depends on the length of time, have been symptoms and severity of symptoms. The General level of health is another important alternative practitioners recommend a treatment plan.

People who do not respond to diet often report that must be a minimum of four weeks before any improvement is noticeable. For many, it can take months. As soon as there is sufficient improvement in symptoms, practitioners suggest slowly reintroduce the list restricted in diet foods.

Another important element of the plan of Dr. Crook is the use of herbs and supplements, or in some cases, prescription drugs, to reduce the amount of the yeast Candida in the body.

Alternative practitioners usually recommend starting small amounts and supplements and gradually increasing. In addition, a temporary worsening of symptoms called a reaction of Herxheimer or mass mortality of yeast, may occur. It is thought to result in the yeast Candida are killed and they release toxins and protein fragments that trigger an immune reaction of the immune system. Natural remedies for Candida

Natural remedies for Candida

The yeast Candida albicans is a yeast which normally live harmlessly in small numbers in the body, controlled by beneficial bacteria in the body and the immune system.

If beneficial bacteria are killed by antibiotics, or the human immune system becomes weakened, Candida can grow unchecked and cause symptoms.

Localized, such as thrush, infections of the skin and can cause infections vaginal yeast in women. Generalized infection may occur in immunocompromised people.

Invaded Candida in the intestine is considered, in some cases, pass through the intestinal wall, causing the yeast and other undesirable to be absorbed in the body particles. It is thought to activate the immune system, which led to fatigue, headaches, mood swings, little memory and concentration, candy cravings and has been linked to conditions such as fibromyalgia.

This condition, popularized by William Crook, MD in his 1983 book, the connection of yeast, is regarded as very controversial. More conventional doctors believe that this systemic condition is arterial and many are in disagreement with the diagnosis.

Contraceptive steroids, oral, antacids, anti-ulcer drug use or frequent use or long-term antibiotics.
High-sugar diets
Pregnancy
Diabetes

Symptoms: lethargic or tired
Low memory
Feel drained, depleted or exhausted
Numbness, burning, tingling
Stomach pain
Joint pain or swelling
Muscle pain or weakness
Constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, or eructation
Vaginal itching boring or persistent burning or discharge
Prostatitis
Erectile dysfunction
Loss of sexual desire
Endometriosis or infertility
Menstrual irregularities or cramps
Crises of anxiety or crying
Cold hands and feet, feel chilly
Irritable or shaking at hunger
Alternative practitioners recommend individualized programs which usually combine diet and supplements. Supplements are gradually introduced to avoid a temporary worsening of symptoms referred to as a "mass mortality" or the Herxheimer reaction. This is because when candida are killed, they release toxins and protein fragments that can trigger an immune reaction of the immune system.

Improvement of symptoms is usually noticed after two to four weeks.

Acidophillus
Acidophillus of beneficial bacteria is thought to control the candida by making it more acidic intestinal tract, discouraging the growth of candida and in production of hydrogen peroxide, which kills directly candida.

Research has shown that supplementing with acidophillus hydrogen peroxide-producing strain, DDS - 1 greatly reduced the incidence of infections yeast induced by the antibiotic.

These beneficial bacteria also help restore the microbial balance within the digestive tract.

Fiber
A teaspoon to a tablespoon of soluble fibre containing guar gum, psyllium husks, seeds of flax or pectin may be mixed in an 8 oz glass of water twice a day on an empty stomach.

Enteric-coating of essential oils
Enteric-coated capsules containing oil of oregano, Mint oil and other volatile oils are designed to prevent the proliferation of candida. It is generally recommended at least several months. A standard dose is two capsules twice daily with water, between meals. Pure essential oils can be very toxic in this amount for the liquid form of these oils should never be ingested, and capsules should not be broken to open prior to ingestion.

Garlic enteric-coated
Garlic capsules which were enteric-coated to open when they reach the intestines are often used in combination with volatile oils. Once the capsule two times per day, taken with the volatile oil enteric coating is a typical recommendation.

Other valuable supplements are Caprylic acid from coconut, oleic acid of olive oil, oregano oil and pau to Arco. There are many products combination formulated for candida which contain these herbs and supplements.

Ayurvedic type

In Ayurveda, the five elements of space, air, Earth, fire and water are all in the universe, including the human body. These elements are combined to create three different types of constitutional or doshas called Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

If the air and space have been the predominant energies present in your birth you are Vata in nature, if the water and the Earth were predominant, you are Kapha and if the fire and water were predominant you are Pitta.

Knowing your dosha can you help to understand what activities, food and lifestyle elements can support and promote your health and causing the imbalance.

The most accurate way of your learning constitution is an Ayurvedic physician. He or she may conduct a physical examination, including assessment of the pulse and can tell you what your dosha is and provide specific recommendations. Many people is a combination of two doshas.

CoQ10 Backgrounder

Other names: Coenzyme Q10, Co Q10, Ubiquinone, vitamin q

CoQ10 is a compound of naturally occurring found in each cell in the body. Another name for the CoQ10, ubiquinone, comes from the word ubiquitous, which means "found everywhere."

CoQ10 plays a key role in the production of energy in the mitochondria, the part of a cell responsible for the production of energy in the form of ATP.

Congestive heart failure
Cardiomyopathy
Recovery and prevention of heart attack
High blood pressure
Diabetes
Gum disease
Renal failure
Migraine
Counter the effects of prescription drugs
Parkinson's disease
Weight lossheart failure
People with heart failure were found to have lower levels of CoQ10 in cardiac muscle cells. Double-blind research suggests that CoQ10 may reduce symptoms associated with heart failure, such as shortness of breath, difficulty sleeping, and swelling. CoQ10 is thought to increase the production of energy in the heart muscle, increase in the strength of the pumping action. Recent human studies, however, did not argue this.

In a study, 641 persons of heart failure were distributed randomly to receive either CoQ10 (2 mg / kg body weight) or a placebo over the standard treatment. The people who took CoQ10 had a significant reduction in the severity of symptoms and less hospitalization.

In another study, 32 patients with heart transplantation waiting for Terminal heart failure received 60 mg of CoQ10 or placebo for 3 months. Patients who took CoQ10 has experienced a significant improvement of the functional State, the clinical symptoms and quality of life, however it there was no change in echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound) or objective markers.

A randomized study 55 patients with congestive heart congestive to receive 200 mg per day of CoQ10, or placebo in addition to standard treatment. Although serum concentrations of CoQ10 has increased in patients receiving CoQ10 CoQ10 affect ejection fraction, the maximum consumption of oxygen, or exercise duration.

A long-term study examines the use of CoQ10 100 mg or placebo in addition to standard treatment 79 patients with stable chronic heart failure. The results indicate that CoQ10 that slightly improved exercise maximum capacity and the quality of life compared to placebo.

Cardiomyopathy

Several small trials have found that CoQ10 may be useful for certain types of cardiomyopathy.

Parkinson's disease

The decrease in the CoQ10 were also observed in people with Parkinson's disease. Preliminary research has found that increasing CoQ10 may increase levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which seems to be lowered in people with Parkinson's disease. It has also been suggested that CoQ10 may protect the brain cells from damage by free radicals.

A small randomized controlled trial examined the use of CoQ10 360 mg or placebo in 28 patients treated and stable Parkinson's. After 4 weeks, CoQ10 has provided a slight but significant light significantly improved symptoms of Parkinson's disease at the beginning and significantly improved the results of the Visual function.

A larger trial 16 months, funded by the National Institutes of Health has explored the use of CoQ10 (300, 600, or 200 mg/day) or placebo in 80 patients with early stage of Parkinson's disease. The results suggest that CoQ10, especially in the 1 200 mg / day dose, had a significant reduction in disability than those who took a placebo.

CoQ10 and statin drugs

Some research suggests that statin drugs or inhibitors of HMG - CoA reductase, a class of drugs used to lower cholesterol, may interfere with the production of the body of CoQ10. However, research on the use of CoQ10 supplements in people taking statins is still not conclusive, and it is not routinely recommended in combination with statin therapy.

Diabetes
In a randomized controlled trial of 12 weeks, 74 people with diabetes type 2 were distributed randomly assigned to receive either 100 mg CoQ10 twice daily, 200 mg per day of Fenofibrate (a lipid regulating drug), both, or neither for 12 weeks. CoQ10 supplementation significantly improved blood pressure and blood glucose control. However, two studies have found that CoQ10 supplementation failed to find an effect any blood glucose control. Gum disease
A small study examined the topical application of CoQ10 in the periodontal pocket. Ten male patients with periodontal pockets 30 periodontitis were selected. During the first 3 weeks, patients applied topical CoQ10. There was a significant improvement of symptoms.

A typical dose of CoQ10 is 30 to 90 mg per day, taken in divided doses, but the recommended amount can be as high as 200 mg per day.

CoQ10 is fat-soluble, so it is better absorbed than with a meal that contains oil or grease.

The clinical effect is not immediate and may take up to eight weeks.

Consult your doctor before trying to CoQ10, especially if you have heart disease, renal failure or cancer.

CoQ10 side effects include diarrhea and rash.

CoQ10 is used in combination with standard therapy, not to replace.

CoQ10 may lower blood sugar, for people with diabetes should not use CoQ10 unless under the supervision of a physician. CoQ10 may lower blood pressure.

The safety of q10 Co in pregnant women or lactating or children has not been established.

Bad breath remedies

Bad breath (halitosis) is a disorder characterized by the smell of compatible unpleasant breath.

Several conditions, such as the postnasal drip, chronic bronchitis, uncontrolled diabetes, infections of respiratory tract, liver, or kidney disease, and digestive problems such as acid reflux can cause bad breath. In the majority of people with bad breath, however, the problem is the mouth and is often caused by the poor dental hygiene, periodontal disease or dry mouth.

What causes the real smell? Particles of food and mouth dead cells collect bacteria which thrive in environments lacking oxygen, such as the back of the language and the deep pockets of gum. These bacteria produce volatile causing the smell of sulfur compounds such as hydrogen sulfide.

Brushing teeth at least twice a day and flossing daily can help to eliminate the bacteria that cause odours. Before you attempt any natural remedies for bad breath, it is important to visit your dentist of avoir your teeth examined and cleaned. If a cause is not identified, see your doctor for further investigation. Here are some home remedies to consider.

Drink tea. Preliminary research suggests that compounds in green and black tea called polyphenols may stop the growth of the bacteria responsible for bad breath. Polyphenols may also prevent bacteria existing produce foul-smelling compounds such as hydrogen sulfide. Green and black tea are polyphenols. Get advice on how to prepare green tea.

Try a mouthwash containing ions of zinc. Zinc seems to directly counteract the smelly sulfur compounds and improve the breath. It is found in several health food store mouthwash and some brands of pharmacy.

Use a scraper tongue, which helps to eliminate dead cells, food particles and bacteria from the language. A scaper tongue is a special instrument plastic found in pharmacies and stores of natural foods, that costs several dollars. In Ayurveda, a thick layer on the language is called "ama" and appears to be caused by incorrect or incomplete digestion. Language of cleaning with a scaper is recommended as a daily plan to remove the WADA. The key is to gently and rinse your mouth thoroughly afterwards. If you do not find a tongue scraper, use a toothbrush to clean your mother tongue.

Drink plenty of fluids. Drinking water and other fluids will help keep your mouth moist. Another reason fluid drink could help: in traditional Chinese medicine, bad breath is often the result of excess heat in the stomach. Water, soup and watery fruit and vegetables, such as cucumber, is thought to help rebalance the body.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, bitter foods, such as the Belgian endives and many dark green leafy vegetables are also believed to assist in the heat of the stomach. Certain foods, such as coffee, alcohol, sugar, milk and fried or spicy foods seem to worsen the problem.

Snack crunchy fruits and vegetables like apples, celery, carrots and jicama. Crunchy foods can help remove food, bacteria and plaque of teeth.

Try a mouthwash containing essential oils. Preliminary studies suggest that essential oils are vegetable oils, can help reduce bad breath. A study compared with an essential oil mouthwash containing tea tree oil, peppermint oil and oil of lemon to a standard mouthwash and concluded that the level of volatile sulfur compounds was significantly less after the essential from the mouthwash oil mouthwash conventional. It is preferable to use a commercially prepared product (check the health food store) instead of buying essential oils and make your own mouthwash. If in doubt, consult your dentist.

Use herbs to freshen your breath. Chewing a small strand of fresh rosemary, parsley, green Mint, or tarragon for up to a minute.

Avoid mouthwashes with alcohol. Alcohol can dry out the mouth, which contributes to bad breath.

Get help to manage stress. Many people have bad breath which does not have a clearly identifiable cause. A small preliminary study found that among young men in good health with good oral hygiene and health General, stress increases the production of volatile sulfur compounds in the mouth. To learn specific relaxation techniques, go to my section on mind/body techniques. In addition, learn about natural remedies for anxiety.
